The project

Campbell's Distribution Network Mini-Audit

A one-page visual analysis that maps a simplified soup product flow from raw ingredient sourcing through manufacturing to retail shelf, identifying one concrete bottleneck and proposing a data-backed fix. This directly mirrors the intern's day-to-day work: using publicly available operational data to surface inefficiencies and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.

  1. Using Campbell's public annual report, investor presentations, and any available USDA or logistics industry benchmarks, pull 3-5 real data points about their distribution footprint, number of plants, distribution centers, key retail partners, or average lead times for CPG peers. Build a simple process-flow diagram (boxes and arrows in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Canva) that shows the end-to-end journey: supplier → manufacturing plant → distribution center → retailer → shelf. Label each stage with one real or estimated metric (e.g., average transit days, inventory days on hand for CPG industry standard).
  2. Identify one plausible bottleneck in the chain, for example, the concentration of volume through a small number of DCs creating weather or demand-shock risk, and support it with a specific data point or cited industry benchmark. Add a second slide or section titled 'Risk & Opportunity' that states the problem in one sentence, quantifies the potential impact in plain business terms (e.g., 'A 2-day reduction in DC dwell time industry-wide correlates with a 3-5% reduction in holding costs per SKU'), and proposes one actionable recommendation such as regional safety-stock buffering or cross-docking at a mid-Atlantic hub.
  3. Compile the flow diagram, the risk slide, and a third 'Executive Summary' slide into a clean, named PDF, formatted as if handing it to a VP of Supply Chain. The executive summary should be three bullet points max: current state, identified risk, recommended action with expected benefit. Export as a single PDF so a recruiter can open it in one click and read the full analysis in under 60 seconds.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. For roles like this one, Provieo builds the project as a live case-study page: slides, tables and findings you fill in. You bring the thinking.

Where did this project come from?

Provieo read the Campbell's posting and generated it on 2026-10-28. If you paste the same posting yourself you may get a different project, so two applicants don't show up with the same one.

Is Provieo connected to Campbell's?

No. This is an independent project idea based on a public posting. It does not guarantee an interview.
