The project

GHS SDS Compliance Gap Analysis Report

A structured audit of two publicly available Safety Data Sheets from real chemical products, evaluated against current OSHA HazCom 2012 / GHS Rev. 9 requirements across all 16 sections, with a clear gap-finding table and prioritized recommendations. This directly mirrors the core task of the role, comparing existing SDS documents against regulatory requirements and identifying deficiencies, and proves the candidate can do the job on day one.

  1. Download two publicly available SDS documents for common laboratory chemicals (e.g., ethanol and sodium hydroxide) from manufacturer websites, then create a compliance checklist in a spreadsheet with one row per required GHS element (all 16 SDS sections, plus label elements: pictograms, signal word, hazard statements, precautionary statements, supplier identification) and mark each element Present, Incomplete, or Missing for both products.
  2. Write a 1–2 sentence finding for every gap or inconsistency you identify, for example, a missing precautionary statement code, an outdated exposure limit that does not reflect the current ACGIH TLV, or a Section 8 that lists no engineering controls, and assign each finding a risk priority (High / Medium / Low) based on whether the gap affects worker safety communication or is a formatting issue.
  3. Compile everything into a clean PDF report (3–5 pages) with a cover page naming the two products and audit date, the filled compliance checklist as a table, a numbered findings section with your prioritized gap descriptions, and a one-paragraph executive summary recommending which product's SDS requires immediate revision and why, formatted as you would deliver it to a Product Engineering Lead.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. For roles like this one, Provieo builds the project as a live case-study page: slides, tables and findings you fill in. You bring the thinking.

Where did this project come from?

Provieo read the Danaher posting and generated it on 2026-10-21. If you paste the same posting yourself you may get a different project, so two applicants don't show up with the same one.

Is Provieo connected to Danaher?

No. This is an independent project idea based on a public posting. It does not guarantee an interview.
