Biologics Supply Chain Intern: a project built for this posting

Based at BMS's Devens biologics campus, the intern maps how materials are received, stored and moved inside the Cell Therapy Facility and quantifies storage capacity needs. Using Excel, Power BI or SAP data, they recommend process changes that prepare the site for new automated supply chain and manufacturing technology.

The project

CTF Storage Capacity Gap Analysis Dashboard

A simulated material storage audit for a fictional Cell Therapy Facility, built in Excel, that maps material flow across receiving, cold storage, and manufacturing staging areas, quantifies capacity gaps, and presents prioritized recommendations in a visual dashboard. This directly mirrors the role's core ask: collect and organize throughput data, identify gaps between current and needed capacity, and present findings to stakeholders.

  1. Create a realistic fictional dataset in Excel with three sheets: (1) a Material Inventory sheet listing 15-20 materials with columns for material name, storage type (ambient/refrigerated/frozen), current storage location, weekly usage volume, and current units on hand; (2) a Storage Capacity sheet listing each storage zone with total capacity in units and currently occupied units; and (3) a Material Flow sheet that maps each material's journey through four stages, Receipt, QC Hold, Primary Storage, Manufacturing Staging, with a column noting average dwell time in days at each stage.
  2. Build a Gap Analysis table on a fourth sheet that uses formulas to calculate percent utilization for each storage zone, flags any zone above 85% as a capacity risk, and identifies materials whose weekly usage volume exceeds a 2-week buffer of on-hand stock. Add a simple process flow diagram using Excel shapes or a hand-drawn image embedded in the sheet that visually traces material movement from dock receipt through end-user delivery, annotating the two or three biggest bottleneck points your data surfaced.
  3. Design a one-page Executive Summary dashboard sheet in Excel using charts (a bar chart of capacity utilization by zone, a Pareto chart of the top materials by throughput volume) and a concise recommendations table with three rows, one for immediate action, one for 30-day action, one for a longer-term automation alignment suggestion, each with a proposed owner (Supply Chain, Facilities, or Manufacturing) and an expected impact. Format the dashboard cleanly with a facility name header, your name as analyst, and a date so it reads as a professional deliverable a stakeholder could open and act on in under a minute.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. For roles like this one, Provieo builds the project as a live case-study page: slides, tables and findings you fill in. You bring the thinking.

Where did this project come from?

Provieo read the Bristol Myers Squibb posting and generated it on 2026-10-16. If you paste the same posting yourself you may get a different project, so two applicants don't show up with the same one.

Is Provieo connected to Bristol Myers Squibb?

No. This is an independent project idea based on a public posting. It does not guarantee an interview.
