The project

Patient-Centered Care Scenario Handbook

A polished, single-document reference guide that walks through three realistic acute-care patient scenarios, detailing how a nurse associate would assess, assist, document, and escalate findings to the supervising RN. It directly mirrors the core NAE responsibilities, ADL support, abnormal finding reporting, and professional communication, and shows recruiters the candidate thinks and communicates like a prepared clinical teammate before day one.

  1. Write three distinct patient vignettes (e.g., a post-surgical adult needing a transfer, an elderly patient with a sudden change in mental status, and a patient requiring personal care and vitals monitoring), for each, document the patient context, the specific ADL or care task the extern would perform, the normal vs. abnormal findings to watch for, and the exact verbal report the extern would give the RN using SBAR format (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation).
  2. Add a one-page 'Professional Standards' section that outlines how you would demonstrate a positive and sensitive response in each scenario, including language you would use with the patient, how you would maintain room cleanliness without disrupting care, and how you would flag concerns without overstepping your scope as a student extern under RN supervision.
  3. Format the completed handbook in Google Docs or Word with a clean title page, section headers, a quick-reference vital signs abnormality table, and a short personal statement (3–5 sentences) connecting your nursing coursework to the externship's goals, export it as a PDF so a recruiter can open and read it in under a minute.

Questions

Do I need to know how to code?

No. For roles like this one, Provieo builds the project as a live case-study page: slides, tables and findings you fill in. You bring the thinking.

Where did this project come from?

Provieo read the Cleveland Clinic posting and generated it on 2026-10-22. If you paste the same posting yourself you may get a different project, so two applicants don't show up with the same one.

Is Provieo connected to Cleveland Clinic?

No. This is an independent project idea based on a public posting. It does not guarantee an interview.
